Thanked: 16What's your favourite lime/citrus based scented soaps?
My wife came home with some really nice lime/coconut hand soap and the scent has left me wanting to try out some more citrus based shaving soaps and possibly aftershaves. I am wondering what everyone's faves are? What have you tried and what did you think of them positive or negative?
Thanks!
Bob

Crabtree and Evelyn, West Indian lime collection is excellent. It not just citrus, but a crisp, robust, spicy smell that does not disappoint.
I use the cream but the soap is good too. I think they have a whole product line including AS and cologne too.
IMO worth it.....
Not to be overshadowed, castle Forbes has a lime scent that is second to none....
Also I think it's worth mentioning that AOS has a really nice 'sea kelp' EO cream that is citrusy with a little something extra---- my skin really agrees with that cream/EO.
I would recommend Any of these products year round.......... Making Old Razors Shine N' Shave, Once Again.

I have the C&E lime cream, the scent is really nice, but I dont think it is a great latherer, godrej lime isnt bad for the price.
Musgo orange amber cream lathers really nicely, but on it's own I find the smell a bit plasticy, mix either lime with it and it's all good.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

You may also want to try DR Harris Arlington

SRD carries a good lime. I can't give you a comparison with the others, though.

Thanked: 16Thanks guys! I am probably going to try out the Crabtree and Evelyn next. I actually use the DR Harris Arlington and LOVE it! I do notice a citrus like smell but it isn't super pronounced to me. I am just trying to see if I can find something with a bit more Citrus kick to it...

Thanked: 603QED, based in Rhode Island, has an excellent Lemon & Cedarwood shaving soap, which is available as a 5oz tub, and a 2oz shave stick. As with all Charles' products, both versions lather, lubricate, and moisturize like nobody's business.
But no shave is complete without a matching or complementary aftershave balm and afterscent. In this case, Castle Forbes makes two incredible aftershave balms in Lime (EO), and Cedarwood & Sandalwood (EO) -- both of which work well with the QED Lemon & Cedarwood shaving soap. Now, with regard to an afterscent, Castle Forbes' Gentlemen's Cologne seems to fill the bill most admirably. According to Basenotes, CF Gentlemen's Cologne contains the following notes:
Top notes: Bergamot, Lemon & Lime.
Middle notes: Lavender & Sage
Base notes: Sandalwood, Cedar & Musk
I think a man would be a lucky fellow to be able to shave with QED Lemon & Cedarwood, then moisturize his skin with CF Cedarwood & Sandalwood ASB, and finish off with CF Gentlemen's Cologne. Given the quality, longevity, and amount of each product I've mentioned here, their cost is certainly affordable -- when the goods are good, it's money well-spent.You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Castle Forbes lime is really good, and performs very well. I like the smell of Col Conks lime, I know I know not the best soap but it smells good

Mike's makes an orange, cedar and peppercorns scent which is much more woodsy than the more tropical West Indian lime scents that are out there
