JM Fraser's Shave Cream first impression
Got a second order in the other day of soaps and creams, one of which was JM Fraser's Shaving Cream. If uou are looking for "ze beste" shaving cream read no farther. If you are looking for a good shaving cream that won't break the budget read on.
Just did a full, for me, 4 pass shave with this cream using a Muhle Retro silver tip badger brush and face lathering. The lather was slick and rich but not overly thick. The shave was smooth with plenty of glide and next to no sting from the alum block. The only downside was my fault when the spike point full hollow gave me a nip reminding me to pay attention to the spike point. In short JM Fraser's shaving cream gave a more than adequate shave.
From my POV you have a perfectly good shave cream in a quantity 3X that of an AOS shave cream tub, 450 ml vs 150 ml, at a cost of less than a single AOS tub. Is it as good as AOS shave cream? Maybe not but it is not too far behind and certainly not as far behind as it's price point and volume might indicate to some.
I left the scent to last as it has no bearing on how the product performs as far as allowing a close and comfortable shave. To me it has a commercial lemony scent that I do not find objectionable in the least but some may. To me a lemony scent is associate with fresh and clean.
