I'm a fan of the Proraso Red as well. As far as lather goes it is as good as or better than any other I've tried.

Slipped it in one of my Anchor Hocking clear glass dessert dishes when it arrived. lathered using my Proraso Pro boar bristle shave brush. I was totally impressed all around with this soap. Plenty of slick and glide, by adding driops of water while swirling the brush on top of the soap, I could easily make mounds of lather. Scent is lovely, w/the Cade woods accord. Like Proraso, no lard here, it's all vegetarian

I'v yet to try the proraso red but I had sample tube of the green and did not like it. It really irritated my face it seemed and I felt more stinging than with other soaps/cremes I've tried.
The Prorasso Green was my first Prorasso product as well and most agree that of all their products, it's the least favorite. I know I find the stuff to strong and not enjoyable, so you're not alone on that front.Quote:

Later today, I will finally try the famed MDC Fougere, and then the Original Scented after that, and see if the big parade around that soap is worth all the baton twirling....
Point is, try some products, form your own opinion, and settle on what you like.
I'm combining proraso red and some tabac cream to make a great lather at the moment....can't imagine that would be too far off your budget!

I ran out of the molle last week so I stopped at the local drugstore and picked up some Neutrogena Shave Cream. The consistency is a lot like the molle and gives a good shave as well.
