The artisan soaps like Mike's and Stirling are as good as anything out there in my experience. Don't forget the ever-present Martin De Candre... ;). I too prefer tallow soaps to anything else.

As good as MdC is I do not believe it is a tallow based soap from the ingredients list on my jar. Pretty good soap and pricey too.

The first ingredient in MdC is stearic acid, the technical term for tallow. I thought that was the case, but had to look it up to make sure I wasn't mistaken.Quote:

I have three types of Mystic Waters Soap (Tee/gum, Pumpkin Spice, and Lavender). These are quality soaps that have both tallow and glycerine. They are a little tough to lather, but once you have the lather down, it helps cut down on shave irritation quite well.
Does anyone have a recent ingredients list for any of the D.R. Harris soaps? I really want to try the Windsor soap, especially if it is tallow-based.Quote:
