LA Shaving Soap Company

I can't swing 70 bucks for Martin De Cadre, but I can do 16 bucks for some LA Shaving Soap. In my research so far for creams and soaps, I've read that LA shaving Co products are heavily influenced by MDC so their products share similarities. Do any of you have any experience with LA Shaving Co and are any of these claims true?

I just placed an order for for a 4.5 oz jar. Vanilla/Eucalyptus/Mint. It's a local company so I'm hoping it comes either tomorrow or the day after. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

MdC is great and it will last forever if you put it in a rotation. Lasts over a year daily shaving.

I am a huge fan of MDC! The Fougère is my absolute favorite soap. LASS makes some very good soaps. The Topanga fougere is very nice from them.

They are great soaps and well worth your $16-$28. Customer service from John is top notch. Ask for a few samples and you shall receive. I own Topanga Fougere and Bespoke#1.

I have and use both. The LASS is indeed very close. I prefer the Woody Lavender. I just started on my second jar of it............

Of the ingredients discussed in other threads, this is the closest formulation to MdC that I have seen.

Ok, so I got the soap in the mail today. This stuff is really really really gooooooood. Damn. Color me impressed.

I prepped with the usually hot shower. Put on some lavender AOS oil, not too much, just a touch. Loaded my brush for about a min on the LA Shaving Soap bowl. It lathered up really thick and smooth. It didn't dry out at all during the shave. I might be getting faster as well. I worked out a system where I do the entire right side of my face with my right hand first, than shift over to my left side with my left hand. I was able to re-apply the lather for 4 passes no problem. I just had to add a few drips of water to my brush for my 3 and 4 pass. The scent was really good.

I got the Vanilla, Eucalyptus, and Spearmint, scent. The mint made the shave really enjoyable and fresh feeling. The soap was super slick too. It lubed up better than my AOS lavender cream. I still like the AOS cream though, I'll be going back and forth between the two. The LASS soap moisturized really well too. I think with this soap, I don't need to use the moisturizing after shave Balm. In the future when I use this soap, I'll probably just my cool water after shave splash.

Is this how girls feel when they go to spa to get facials done? Lol. I feel like such a princess. lol. 10/10 would buy again.

FYI-I only have to load my brushes for 20 seconds with the LASS. You might give it a try.
