    Unhappy Williams Mug

I don't know if it's a rumor or it's true but Williams Mug will be out of the market. For me if it's true it's sad, not just cause the soap was a icon but to my personal use it was a good shaving soap. William's never let me down it was a bit tricky to lather but as soon you know how to use it it was a good shaving soap and of course at the price point it was for me hard to beat. I know and respect that lots of wet shavers didn't like William's but like i said it's only my personal opinion. I do have about 36 pucks in stock and i planed to buy some until there be none on the shelf in my local stores. R.I.P. Williams if the rumor is truth.

Did you like the smell the lather, if you don't mind me asking. Or just a clean shave altogether

All together, for me to my taste Williams is a good soap. Like i said the soap is really thirsty and could be tricky to lather but as soon how You know how to use it, it's a good soap. I like every thing about the soap(the smell, performance ect...). Just to my opinion it's a shame if they stop the production, but i guess it's Life and if Combe inc doesn't make any profits whit it that's the way it goes.

Although I don't use William's Mug much anymore, I would miss it. I guess many people also don't use it much any more if Combe is really stopping production. Even with the very hard water where I live, it has lathered up well for me. It does dry the skin somewhat like any regular soap will, but that's what can be expected from a 99-cent soap. I even like the old-fashioned lemon verbena scent (and I prefer scent-free products).

Maybe some will find this kind of weird but to me i like Williams and i took the decession to stock the soap. Right now i have 49 pucks and i intend to stop at 60 if i can find the rest. I know that a lot of wet shaver didn't like it but to me it's a good soap who gave me good shaves. Right now i use it around 2 times a week so whit 60 pucks i'm probably good for a long time.

You fellows have made me go to the Willie a lot lately. I actually grated up a puck of it, a half-puck of Aramis shave soap (don't ask!) and a pile of glycerine mixed in. Mixed well in a bowl, I packed it into an empty plastic soap container.
15 secs microwave, pack and pack. 15 more, pack and push. Twice more. Awesome shave , great lather.

Faint (thankfully!) Aramis aroma and awesome lather, easily produced.

Then, I have broken-out the old mug and soaked the puck in the bottom (lives there!), dumped the water out and added 4 drops of glycerin on top and began with a dry brush, dipping in water and stirring.....As necessary.

Those who say Williams is bad are either not trying, or trying too hard.
Stuff is great, IMO. And nostalgic to boot. JMHO

Going to have to stock up. Used my Williams last night and loved it.
Underloved, and will be missed. Sort of like my old Volare'.

    Volare' wowowowooo!

So a tribute to Uber Williams/Aramis. Have a ways to go, however. Great face-lathering stuff.
Anyone wanting a fine Williams experience, grate it up and give it a tablespoon of glycerin.
Stir it up, pack it down and use it as anything else. Like I said, Nostalgic!

60 pucks?! Pretty soon you can re-start the business, or just have Williams until the day you die.

TBH, I think old stock has been selling off for some time. Probably why the glycerin wakes it up. Dried out a bit?
