Yup, I have come to the conclusion that many so called cheap shave creams are, in fact, some of the better methods to enjoy a good shave. I have been a bit shaky since a recent hospitalization and so I have been playing around with lathering possibilities and Safety Razors.

Cutting to the chase; above, are a few of the many shave creams available at rather low cost from European manufacturers. Most are available through US distributors. Many have a great scent, lather well, and all have a nice balance of moisturizing and glide. Oh, yes! Proraso is there also in the COBigelow version. I didn't mention Shave Stick soaps but they have some great ones and they can be a great travel simplifier!

There are some great soaps in puck form but far too many now on the market are “Artisan” with no real advantages accounting for their high cost.

To balance the equation, my puck shaving soaps include, not necessarily in order of appreciation and enjoyment, Sterling, RazoRock, Green Mountain, vintage Williams, vintage Colgate, vintage Avon, vintage Old Spice, and a host of others collected over time from garage sales, PIF's, and antique stores. I even bought some, new, from US and off shore sellers also. All are pleasant and of good value for the price I paid. A few recent Artisan soap pucks I have purchased did not make the cut.

So, before turning up your nose at "No Brag Rights, cheap” foreign products, try a few and use them when time is of importance or simply for the heck of it.
