I think the Cuero Oscuro smells fantastic! Very unique. I have nothing else that smells quite like it. And, little birdie told me it will be available in a fragrance in the near future as well. :-)

Just tried the Cuero Oscuro. Said its a more manly scent...
From the website...
A masterful blend of leather, vetiver, cedarwood, tobacco, patchouli, oakmoss and coffee to top it off.
IMO I didn't really enjoy the scent. Reminded me of something but it wasn't leather!
As far as the lather, its still just as creamy as the rest and this is from the Premium Shave soap group. No Donkey Milk but it does have beef tallow.
Good stuff man!
BTW, Obie I did the refill on the water before making lather and after making the lather and it worked just great. Got just what I was looking for in temps without having to turn up the water heater.
My wife's hands thank you as she does the dishes and knows how much hot water to turn on. If I turned it up I know she would be not happy. Thanks.
Tried out the Wholly Kow ...Merchants of Tobacco....Nice and different scent.....the suds are way different than Castle Forbes .....the Kow doesn't have the stiff peaks of lather...but...it does check off all the boxes....it whips up lather...just not as fast as Castle Forbes...it's just a different animal..
Indifferent animal is right. These soaps are creamy/buttery in my opinion but lather up well. Had to have both of those together. They are not like traditional shave soaps.
Just tried the Irving Park from Oleo after reading about the soaps. It's a very good shave: good lather and great glide, and the scent is a a little different, but good. (I had to try it, having lived on Irving Park Rd in the Windy City for a number of years.) Its scent is masculine. Excellent soap worthy of first tier status IMO. Again, thanks to Obie.
