Thoughts:
Brush is amazing as always, likely my favorite brush, perfect amount of backbone for face lathering without being too scrubby. And yet the tips are gel soft! The razor and blade as comfortable and smooth as it gets. I could just whip around the face without worry of nicks or weepers.
The soap is one I have been wanting to try for a while now, I LOVE Dr.Jon's soaps! This soap performed great, it created a nice rich luxurious lather with lots of slickness that fits all expectations I have from other soaps of his that I have used. To me, the only miss to this soap is the scent. If you like a plain cedar scent then you would enjoy it. It is the only scent of his I have found so far that I have not been easily able to distinguish all of the individual scents listed in the profile(Cedar, Orange, Black Pepper and Cinnamon). All I really got by smelling the tin was cedar and a just bare whisper of orange on occasion. As I lathered I expected the scent to come alive as it really does on his other soaps, with Anny Bonne for instance the Black Tea really comes to life once you get a nice lather going. Instead it seemed more muted than I anticipated and still all I could smell was cedar. I really hate to say it, but I found it quite underwhelming. I still enjoyed the cedar scent enough as well as the overall performance to keep it around, but I don't see this one going on the keep in stock list.
