I had not bought any hard soaps from AoS, but a friend gave me a bowl of Sandalwood for feeding her cat.

Damn! That's a great soap. Massive, thick lather.

I know my AoS brush was made by Muhle. I wonder who makes their soaps. I'd like to try more of their products.

Their soaps used to be made by an Italian manufacturer, I don't know if that still holds on current production or not.

The original formula was tallow based and made in Italy, I believe by Valobra. The current formula is Palm / Coconut oil base and is now made in the USA. The parent company being Proctor & Gamble and is no stranger to soap making so my guess they started producing it themselves. I can't say this is true though its just a guess.

Actually when the outfit began it was the owners wife who came up with the original formulations because her husband used to complain about the preps he was able to get. Then his family and friends wanted some and so he started the company. After that I don't know.
