Most Refreshing Soap
... that isn’t mentholated, and that’s still efficient. Something “light.”
One of the most refreshing soaps/aftershave combos that I’ve used that wasn’t mentholated, was “The Gentleman’s Refinery’s Black Ice.” Light, awesome scent, and left the face an incredible kind soft/hydrated. But it just wasn’t as viscous as I would have liked.
I’m looking for a nice “light” soap/cream aftershave combination. Ideas?David

Thanked: 4830I have a regular soap that I don’t have the matching aftershave. I find Musgo Real quite delightful. Thanks to BobH for introducing me to it.

Thanked: 4830Classic scent. I’m not sure how to describe it, tabbacco, wood and flowers perhaps.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Many of the citrus and colonia scents are refreshing, certainly Castle Forbes lime, Sterling grapefruit, Stirling Piacenza (good copy of the original AdP Colonia scent), and MdC agrumes and Christian Dior Eau Savage cream come to mind.
Aquatics such as AdP Collezione Barbiere, AoS Ocean Kelp, and Durance l'Homme are nice aquatics. Now Sir Obie has in the past dubbed Durance l'Homme the worst shaving soap in the world, so when Maggards had refill pucks for $12 and I needed something for free shipping I just had to have one. It's a solid performer! I think they must have made a bad batch of soap in the past and were just too stubborn to admit/recall it.
Carthusia is a light cologne, and Osma Traditionel (not the alum-containing soap) has an almost identical scent (and I suspect may be the same soap). Castle Forbes 1445 and Nuavia green are in the same family.
And this list would be incomplete without mentioning one of the most refreshing scents there is, Czech and Speake Oxford and Cambridge.
Cheers, Steve

Thanked: 603Proraso Green... on a South Florida "dog-day of Summer" it's the ticket to "refreshing".
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Steve,
I thought Durance was discontinued. Good heavens, I haven't thought about that soap in years. I still have their handsome soap bowl, though.
At the time I used Durance, a number of prominent British reviewers had given the soap bad reviews. I gave it a terrible review, if I remember.
Interesting that it performs well for you. I am curious to know if they have changed the formula after all these years.
