I love pre de provence 63‘s scent! Love it! I love the scent so well, I bought the shower gel to compliment my pre de Provence 63 shaving soap/aftershave.

And even though I hardly ever wear cologne, I might get that too!
But this week long review isn’t about shower gels it’s about the shaving soap and it’s aftershave balm, but know this, every 63 product I tried so far smells exactly the same. It smells like clean! Clean with some manly floral woodsy scents added in. Nom,nom. It’s a universal scent that you can use in summer or winter - and I have, with never an issue. “Clean” is never an unattractive choice.
The soap is manufactured in France, and It’s quite hard.

Making a lather with it, for me is a bear. Everyone said the Osma soap would be tricky to lather, but it wasn’t. No one has ever said 63 is, but there I am struggling... go figure.
Interestingly, it was the lather that I thought I loved about the soap, but my last two shaves have seen uninspired lathers. The soaps viscosity and cushion in my opinion is really the products downfall. But there’s no question post shave even if the alum stings like the dickens, that the soaps conditioned the face.
It’s odd because they make a brushless cream as well that the propaganda says lathers, but I couldn’t lather if the world depended on it!

I would expect most would hate the cream, and reading the reviews, most ”do.” But I absolutely love it. It’s the weirdest shaving product I’ve ever had. It doesn’t lather, but it protects like a champ!! And after the blade passes, it feels like your face is dry! It’s the oddest sensation! But I dig it now and again! And did I mention that it smells great?! Oh yeah! It does.
Ok, so finally the balm. It’s part magic. I use it after shaving with AdP too. They are both clean scents so it works - and they are both quality products.
I love shaving with pre de provence 63 products. I’m going to see if I can’t get the soaps lather running a bit better for me in the next couple of shaves and will report back. If you have a chance to try pre de provence 63, give it a shot!
