    Default IMO, Williams

With a comment from one of our members i tried Williams with a dab of Cremo on top. What I got was a nice lather. I found it made a creamy lather without too much issue. It didn't fade away too quickly like some low cost soaps. The slickness of the two combined was ok. Not extreme but enough as long as you don't add too much water. Protection from the blade was not felt as i find with other soaps and skin conditioning was missing. My skin felt a little pinched.
I feel i have average skin and whiskers. And i used a very nice edged razor so got a CCS. No irritation. My next shave will be with Williams without mixing so I can see what part of all this was from the Williams itself. But my opinion right now is...

Yes, it is a shave soap. Works ok for its cost. I could use it as a one and only soap. I wouldn't be extremely happy with it. Its nothing special at all. And, I would not recommend it to a newbie to learn to shave with. It is lacking important qualities.
    YMMV

Just to be clear, This was a new soap and not one of the original pucks.

The original pucks were quite good. The newer stuff is serviceable and does its job, but is nothing spectacular. I still use the newer stuff as it, to me, is perfect for breaking boar brushes in. Splits the ends and gets rid of the boar smell quite nicely and quickly.

Williams threads and tape threads.......A tradition around here, I reckon.

And I'm pretty sure I've made the same reply on a couple of them.

Oh and soaps that you add crap to so they will be ok.

Sorry TC and Tom. Guess I could have posted it on one of the many threads already around. But I agree TC. Just had to give my thoughts.
