Proraso Green -- thin?

Anyone using Proraso Green?

how much do you squeeze out?

into a mug? brush, your face??

It seems that its pretty thin, or maybe I cant whip up a rich lather with it....

I put some in a mug yesterday, and right on the brush today -- then worked it in my shaving mug..

It gives a nice shave, but is very different from every other cream I have ever used.

I use it from time to time. I probably use about a 1/2"-3/4" snurdle. I never thought it was thin though Maybe it just needs a different water ratio than some of your others.

For me, about 1/2" is about right. I prefer to lather on my face so i put the cream on my beard. I find that I have to use more water than I am accustomed to than with other creams. Definitely slick though.

I like it, but i just use other soaps and creams more often. I don't like how it accumulates on the shaving brush. A couple of Proraso shaves and I'm having to shampoo the brush.

Ditto. This time of year, I use Proraso more than any other single cream. That menthol-eucalyptus just satisfies every time. I guess I'm a cheap date.

I take the Proraso green with me on travels. I actually don't take a brush along so I usually just squeeze out about an inch or so, rub it into my washed/dampened beard, and work up a bit of lather with my fingertips. Works fine, for me.

I use an almond-sized dollop, which I squeeze into the bottom of my Moss scuttle. I shake almost all of the water out of my brush, then swirl it around for about 30 seconds. I build the lather on my face, periodically dipping the tips of the brush in the sink.

I've found that starting with less water and adding it as you go is really helpful. I get a rich, slick, fluffy lather this way.

I squeeze an almond size blob into my scuttle, use a smallish amount of water, and swirl. I don't get a lot of fluff in the bowl but when I brush it onto my wet face I get a nice thick slick coverage I can't argue with it.

I use proraso green, the one in bowl, I found it to be a bit different form any other soap I tried before, but I can now have a great thin lather from proraso and I love the feel of the menthol.

I'm absolutely not an expert, but currently I'm ok with this soap. In the future I want to try out a soap from Taylor of Old Bond Street...

Sounds like you may want to shake a bit more water out of your brush. Should be able to develop a pretty nice lather with Proraso. Experiment a little more.

Golly! You guys use a lot of cream!

I soak my 20 years' old Omega boar brush (holds less water than badger by all accounts) flick it dry once fairly gently and wet my face with it. Without re-wetting the brush I squeeze about 4-5 mm (less than 3/8") of cream from the tube into the brush and start working up a lather. If necessary I dip the tip of my brush once or twice in hot water and continue. This all takes less than 3 minutes. this gives me a nice and thick lather not just a thin film.

After that I shave away! never had to shampoo the brush but I don't use it daily.

I like the stuff a lot, although it smells a bit too mentholly to my taste but it's nice and cooling.
