Thread: Favorite Travel Size Soap?

Hi, I don't travel with a straight for obvious (carry on) reasons, but I need to find a fantastic small size brush-soap for my travel kit. Does anyone have a favorite 2oz size? Something between a sample and normal toothpaste tube? Kiehl's has something, but I've never tried and it seems overpriced. I prefer stronger scents of any variety.
(Sure would love to find a shave-soap store somewhere. I'd have a big pile)

You can get travel containers at most drug or hardware stores. Pack one with your favourite soap.

I have a stainless steel travel brush that stores inside a cylinder that becomes its handle. I know Fendrihan stocks a few at various prices.

You can also purchase a collapsible lather bowl that folds flat and has a textured bottom for raising lather. I frequently use mine for a home-based shave because it lathers so well.

I travel with soap sticks, they are very convenient. Tabac or La Toja are good but there are many others. If you want a small puck, Haslinger is worth a run.

I think it’s the old formula and I prefer it to the regular Tabac. I don’t travel too often, so it should last a while.

To me a shave stick like the Tabac one is the only way to go for travel. I'd say learn to face lather and skip dragging a bowl around while you are at it. A smaller sized synthetic brush in a plastic pill bottle too. Make sure to drill some holes in the bottom of the pill bottle for ventilation. You can even get a 4 piece travel DE that comes in its own case. All that makes for a very compact travel shave kit.

Yes, for shorter trips the Tabac stick works quite well.

I hardly use shaving sticks except for short trips and the Tabac stick has a larger surface than most other sticks (e.g. La Toja), which makes it IMO a more pleasant experience. The Tabac stick also comes with a safe and secure screw cap that does not come off as easily as some sticks (e.g. La Toja or Lea).

Truth be told, I found most shaving sticks underwhelming, but there is always Haslinger shaving soap in the small aluminium container that works like any other shaving soap.

For longer trips, I usually take one of my standard shaving soaps in a container, ideally with screw top (e.g. Haslinger or 150 g Antiga Barbearia de Bairro), or one of my shaving creams.

Thanks all can I ask where you get the stuff or you just order on Amazon or something? But so many recommendations for Tabak I’ll give it a try and look up the others as well.

I often buy from The Men's Room Barbershop Store. They have a good selection and good pricing. I found them price shopping MWF and liked their other offerings as well.
