    Default Shave Secret

    Hi guys,

I'm relatively new to the forum, and just picked up my first straight of this great forum. I have been a victim of the disposables for some time, and it's time to move on. I picked up this stuff called shave secret from walmart, and I've been using it for some time with the disposables. It works great for me, and my face hasn't had the usual nicks, bumps and other ailments that I used to get with standard shaving creams. This stuff is also oil based and probably contains some menthol due to the cooling effect, I was wondering if it is alright to use this stuff with a straight razor?

that's the site...and a bottle of this stuff is like $3.xx so not bad at all.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

It's safe. Once you learn to do a good prep, and get a proper lather, it will be unnecessary. But until then, and during dry winter months, it can definitely be your friend.

Some guys use it as a pre-shave oil. For me, I just love using classy, rich, creaming, great smelling and warm shave cream or soap.
