    Default Old-Fashioned Shaving Stick?

Does anybody still make shaving sticks? A Google search didn't turn any up--mostly found styptic pencils and something called a pre-shave stick for electric razors.

Before WWII, shaving sticks seem to have been preferred by barbers over cake soap, possibly for sanitary and economic reasons (less wash-up, less waste).

I have an old shaving kit that came with two stick-holders, but no sticks. I haven't been able to find any info on how the sticks were used, either.

    Any help?

Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but Momma Bear does do shave sticks:

Thanks, SR-CMT. Not sure this is the same as what was used in the olden days, but it looks like it might be. We'll see if anybody else knows anything.

Some of the European soapmakers make shave sticks. They are a little less "substantial" than shave sticks I've seen from MB, QED, or DR Harris. More like a small stick of soap wrapped in foil. I've seen them from Arko, Speick, Erasmic, and I think Tabac. Is this what you mean?

Edit: There is a picture of the Speick stick on this page:

Here's another shaving stick. A lot of people like it, I'm trying to get my hand on one of them
