:rofl2:. That was fun. Precisely my opinion and I'll have to try this with a little smaller one

As I recall when I started wet shaving I used all the standards, williams, VDH, Surrey, Burts Bees and at the time thought they were the best soaps in the world. Now I would never use any of them if you paid me. If they work good for you and you like em and have no desire to look further I take my hat off to you.
For me shaving is a real pleasure, and never a chore. I find the act of shaving with a straight and the rituals that accompany it, quite theraputic.
Therefore I like a soap or a cream with a good thick lather and a nice scent, to my mind Williams has neither of these. I also find that it is quite harsh and dries my skin out.
That said, if Williams works for you.. one mans meat and all that..
The legendary Williams and a good boar brush...shaving goodness. I still use it more than any other soap (so far). Must be the scent.
I started with a bristle brush and a cake of Williams in 1973. Bought it in the grocery store. Used it until we moved to NE Oregon in 1997 and swiched to Colgate, as Williams is hard to come by here. Both are adequate shave soaps and certainly better than any canned crap.
My wife got me a cake of Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood a few years back. Now I prefer the premium soaps and cremes. Nothing wrong with that. Likewise, there's nothing wrong with Williams and Colgate. My tastes just run to GFT and silver tip brushes now.

I like that!:rofl2:

I have to say, I have a few cakes of Williams under the sink. I have an array of soap/creams on my bathroom counter.
"Nancy Boy" is quality stuff, funny name, good stuff. It ranks up there with Castle Forbes. They're my two favorite creams. For soaps, Vintage blades triple milled brand is great stuff at a reasonable price, then Tabac, followed by Colleen's soaps in that order.
I got 2 Williams soaps on my local Walgreens,is just a simple shaving soap.It makes a resonable lather, good shave but im not impres.
Now,if you want a bad @$$ soap go with Colleen's soaps from The Gentelman Quaters.
