It's an historical name in the annals of wet shaving however they aren't exactly the last word in soap quality. I don't think anyone will miss their passing.

Who is still selling this stuff, I would at least like to give it a try just for nostalagia's sake.

I was searching for it the other day and found a place where you can buy single pucks, but the guy seems to have jacked his prices way up on soaps in general (23 bucks for three pucks of Colonel Conk).

    Mug & Brush Shaving

About half-way down the page has no picture, it's right under the burma shave brush.

They were better known for their witty roadside signs than their shaving products, imho.

Back in the day, Burmashave was a cream and not a puck soap, they were also the best seller in the US. They should have re introduced the cream, it was advertised as not needing the brush, all you had to do was rub it in with your fingers.

    Just for fun, here goes.

    A man.
    A miss.
    A car- a curve
    He kissed the miss
    and missed the curve.
    Burma shave.

I would love to be able to try out the cream, but I've had no luck finding it though, however if anyone can get a hold of any let me know.

I did find something on the soap though. Overstock.com carries the tin set; mug, soap puck, brush (the signature red&white handle burma shave brush) all in a Burma Shave Tin. This is a little over 20 bucks, catch is it comes in sets of three, so you spend 20 bucks, you get three sets. However they only have two of these deals left.

You can also find them on Amazon.com. The ones on Amazon show all the same stuff, but the shave brush handle is all red, so I don't know if there is any difference in the brushes or sets, but other than that small detail they all look the same. The set on Amazon is a single set and it runs for about 5 bucks.

I picked up a set just to try it out, at that though the mug itself is probably worth what you pay and you get a nice tin you could store used razors in if you ever use a safety.

So you better get on it nun2sharp since from what I hear they are going fast!

Thanks, but I think I will pass, I am more interested in the original cream.

Hey if you find it let me know where! I'd like to try it out. From what I've heard their cream is way better than there soap....that being said I recently shaved with their soap and it worked quite well, but I was using a DE as my straights are OOC right now in need of an edge refreshing. Only complaint I have so far is that the set I got came with a boar brush, that works surprisingly well, but of course it had that stinky boar brush smell, but this one that comes in the burma shave kit....let me tell you, this one is particularly stinky. I thought maybe my soap had gone rancid and started getting that sinking feeling that I was out that money because I wasn't going to continue using a soap that smelled of dying people.
