If you could pick just one soap for shaving what would it be. No top 5 lists just a single soap.

If you could pick just one soap for shaving what would it be. No top 5 lists just a single soap.
Its always been asked whats the best and usually the answer is x or y ... so now just pick one soap that you would use forever.
Right now mine would be Tabac...I havent tried MWF but have heard good things...
This topic is very subjective, but for me it's Mama Bear hands down. I prefer the way they lather to all the others on your list, plus there is a great variety of scents.
TGQ cavendish black... for me it's perfect
I'm going to have to go with D.R. Harris Arlington.
awesome this should be a good poll...
its harder to just pick one
Harris would be my number two
but I couldnt list all the top soaps so i picked a few that are talked about alot...and gave the other option.
I like Cella a lot.
One soap is cruel and unusal punishment but I voted!!!!.... it was hard to pick just one... but I did !!!!
MWF !!!!!! RULES
It was hard to pick between MWF and Tabac. TGQ is close too......
But in the end, Tabac takes it for me. It just provides that smidge better cushion and glide on my skin (note: on MY skin) than MWF. The MWF, though, is hands-down the winner on cold winter days that I'll be outside. it just leaves my skin a little nicer.
St. Charles Shave.
Chelsea's Soap Garden in a very close second.
I would say my homemade soap, but it's immodest.
Hands down, Vintagebladesllc, triple milled soap. It's the best overall I've used, and I've used them all. It's overlooked because it's their name brand stuff. It comes in a wooden bowl and you can buy refills for it. it's very unassuming. Fantastic Lather, moisture, and wonderful soft fragrance close to MWF, but not the same. It lathers better than any soap I've tried. Triple Milled is supposed to be the best. If I could have only one soap, that'd be it, with Mama Bear's a close second, then TGQ, then Tabac, then MWF....They're all wonderful, that's why I have 12 soaps/creams in my rotation.....
TGQ all the way .;)
Honeybee Soap! It is THE BEST I've ever tried, and I've tried several. :y
MWF. Close behind is Tabac and DR Harris Marlborough. One of these days I must try TGQ and Mama Bear.
I'm mostly a cream guy, but I would have to pick Institute Karite. I really wanted to like MWF but it didn't agree with my skin.
It is the first one under shaving soap
Vintage*Blades*LLC*::...
The Vintage Blades soap was there when I dropped by a minute ago. (VintageBladesLLC::...) Sounds like another to add to my "to try" list. It's probably already too long :P
Anyway, for me, it's probably Mama Bear. TGQ is close, but Mama Bear's has a more extensive scent line (Dragon's Blood is like the perfect autumn afternoon).
I never should have went to Vintage Blades, I just bought Blenheim Bouquet cream & soap...like I really needed more soap & cream :gth
Irish Moos
Mama Bear for me. Rosemary Mint soap is the perfect soap for my skin, my hard water, etc.
My hard water takes the very well made and exquisitely scented TGQ soaps and creams, thumbs its nose at them and sends any semblance of lather whimpering into oblivion.
Chris L
TGQ- although I think (or would have thought) TGQ and Mama Bear had an unfair advantage having multiple scents to choose from. For me- I can make any soap lather a bit better, but there's something intoxicating and special about having all these scents that really make me enjoy the shave.
Tabac .......
I like seeing all the answers...
It is a tough desicion for most as alot of us have many soaps...
Irisch moos. Lathers great like tabac with a much better scent. Hands down my favorite.
From that list....Tabac.
I took a cheese grater and mixed flakes of Tabac with Plisson Shaving Soap, about 50/50.
The Plisson tones down the piercing scent of the Tabac, yet the lather is is a good as the pure Tabac. The Plisson by itself is not that far behind the Tabac.
Bart.
Colleens Bay Rum! From the Gentlemans Quarter. Hands down, no BS, without a doubt.
I'll just post a pic

Those bowls are nice!
I voted Tabac. I have yet to try MWF. TGQ is awesome. St. Charles Shave as mentioned is awesome. I don't like Mama Bear stuff so far, but I'll keep trying them out over time I'm sure.
Eric, I use the MWF from time to time, I really like the way it smells.
