Robin's fight against boring old English scents. An ongoing series.
Gentlemen,
Judging from the view count in the reviews department, you are too busy discussing tallow based soaps and similarly silly pastimes. By ways of a shameless plug, I would therefore like to draw your attention to a series of reviews I started about three months ago. I called it "Robin's fight against boring old English scents", because I ("Robin") got bored with "classic" scents. Now, as some of you may know, I am quite picky when it comes to scents, but not picky toward a higher quality, just toward my own personal preference. So in the spirit of The Great Lime Shoot Out I previously did, I am pleased to present you the current ranking of creams and soaps that do not smell boring:
- Domenico Caraceni "1913" Shaving Cream (100%)
- Penhaligon's "Blenheim Bouquet" shaving cream (95%)
- Xpec "Original" shaving soap (92%)
- Acca Kappa "White Moss" shave cream (92%)
- Kniže "Ten" shaving soap (91%)
- Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze "Uomo" shaving soap (85%)
- Bronnley "James Bronnley" Shaving Cream (85%)
- Mühle Rasiercreme "Sanddorn" ("sea buckthorn" shaving cream) (84%)
- Kent "Skin Conditioning Shaving Cream" (75%)
It has been an interesting experience, for which I would like to thank the good people at The Different Scent in Berlin for providing me with the samples. I would also like to encourage you to submit your reviews, as the new review system needs as many of them as possible to obtain the most objective results.
Regards,
Robin
P.S. Obie, get that Penhaligon's cream - you will love it. ;)
Robin's fight against boring . . .
My dear Robin,
Did you say I will love Penhaligon shave cream? Then I will. Your suggestions and opinions have never led me astray. Thank you, my friend, for the recommendation. I will order the Penhaligon first thing tomorrow.
By the way, thanks for the pictures of The Different Scent in Berlin. Now that looks like a gentleman's corner of Paradise. Oh, how I would float on a field of lovely flowers.
Regards,
Obie
