Thanked: 0A gift for my Dad
Hi All,
I recently discovered that my father shaves with Jergen's bar soap, hand soap, or whatever is sitting around. I was thinking I might get him some good soap/cream for his upcoming birthday and/or father's day, but he's not the kind of guy to figure out using a brush. He likes to keep things very simple, though I think he'd appreciate a good soap or cream that doesn't require a learning curve. Any suggestions?

Castle Forbes lime cream is very good, as are Tabac soap and Trumpers creams and soaps. All are very easy to lather.
Mitchells Wool Fat is another excellent soap, but is a little harder to lather.
Hope you guys have a good one!

While shave creams and shave soaps work best with a brush I have given some guys a little shave cream and told them to use it as a soap and work up a lather on their face with their hands. Granted, these guys don't know what good lather is but they said they got good results. Your local Bath and Body Works carries C.O. Bigelow shave cream in a tube. Premium Shave Cream with Eucalyptus Oil - C.O. Bigelow - Bath & Body Works
It's not the best out there but much better than hand/bath soap and isn't expensive. Should work OK for face lathering with his hands. I would work much netter with a brush but one step at a time.
Good luck“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

My personal choice are soaps from TGQ. Mama Bear also has a large following here, and has great soaps. Look through the Veondor's Corner below for some ideas.

If I understand your questions you're asking for a shave soap or cream that can be used without a brush. An alternative are shave sticks. Mama Bear (the aforementioned vendor) makes some. I've used her soaps with great results but never her shave sticks. Here's a link: Shave Sticks
I also know badger and blade sells shave sticks.

Thanked: 190Mama Bears - Dragon Tears and a Super Badger brush by Vulfix.
If my family gave me this while I was still using the Mach 3 and cheap soap, I would have been doing backflips with excitement!
