The Valeiro sounds interesting. I like Musgo Real cream but rarely use it. I may need to break it out for tomorrow's shave. :nj

I never got decent lather from Musgo Real. Thingies looking like tea leaves came out of the tube with the cream every so often. Not worth the money IMHO.
Ladies and gentlemen:
I failed to mention in my earlier post that I have used Musgo Real and it set my Hollywood face on fire. Something in it obviously irritated my face. Yes, fire. Burning. After several shaves I threw it out.
The German soap Gold Dachs set my face on fire, too, and had to be retired.
Lavanda shave cream, on the other hand, has a pleasant fragrance and it makes mounds of rich and luxurious lather for me. I do like it.

All portuguese creams are lanolin rich, have good performance and good skin conditioning... Lavanda is Musgo´s brother: same company(arch brito/claus porto) and very close formulation, performance should not be apart.
O melhor,Veleiro and Top Secret are from Confiança, another company recently acquired by Arch brito. Veleiro has a nice marine scent and good performance, O melhor is slighly above in performance by most who tried it(I didn´t yet...) and Top Secret is slightly different from them.
I personally love Veleiro(altough have not tried them all yet)and find it a good trustable and affordable cream!
But I think you can´t go wrong with any really....
I agree with you that musgo you can get anytime so that could be left for some other time. Lavanda is discontinued and was slightly cheaper than musgo but you pay premium now for it and probably one last chance to try it, some love it!
Hello, BullGoose:
By Jove, now I am relieved to hear of the burning problem you have with Musgo Real, as well. I thought I was hallucinating, since I seemed to be the only one who brought up this point. Musgo Real on my face felt like a smooch from the Devil.
I also concur about some burning problems with Taylor's creams. It's not as bad as that from Musgo Real, or Gold Dachs soap. For me, it is not the rose scent. I love the scent, especially that used in Harris and Trumper. Taylor is something else. As I understand, Taylor and Trumper creams are both produced by Creighton, I imagine to individual specifications, which perhaps could point to certain blends used in Taylor's that disagree with my skin, I don't know.

That's a shame about the Musgo guys. It's great by itself, and it excels when Uber'd with MWF and some Glycerin...The only soap that sets my face on fire, were TGQ for some reason. I forget which one's exactly, but I bought samples some time ago.
I love the Musgo. It lathers well, smells great, and my face gets no irritation. I may not be the best gauge for sensitivity though as I regularly encounter fiberglass and other nasty things at work and am not irritated by that. Also I love the Musgo aftershave, and look forward to getting my gubament moneys next week so I can pick up their orange-amber cologne. Just my two (s)cents worth.
I personally don’t like the scent of Musgo Real.
I suggest you to try O Mehlor. The scent is very fresh and clean, it reminds me of Siena ASB, and the lather is of excellent quality.
