    Default Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream

    Just had the BEST evening shave after not shaving this morning (Sat) with my new Body Shop Maca Root Cream. This is only the second cream I've used, I've been using Proraso for the last month since I started shaving with a Straight Razor, and it's incredible. I can't believe how cushiony with such a nice glidy feel it is; and it smells really nice and FEELS so nice afterwards. 9/10, the only thing that doesn't make it a 10 is that it isn't from some quaintly branded European company founded 1000 years ago in a tiny village...

    Can you compare the smell to anything, or give a price? You've peaked my interest, looks like I may be stopping by the mall this weekend after all. Thanks for the heads up

    Quite right, the Macca Root is a splendid shaving cream!
    For some reason it does not get the accolades it deserves.
    Reasonably priced and of good quality

    +1 definitely a Shave Cream to try
    The older Body Shop Cream was a touch better in cushion, but the new Macca Root Cream has a clean fresh scent and shaves way above it's price point IMHO It also might have a slight edge over the old formula on conditioning after the shave...

    Price
    6oz = $16
    4oz =$10

    I'd love to try this cream but I don't buy Body Shop products because of ethical reasons.

    Thanks, bassguy. I love to hate corporations, so this really makes my day! I think my problem with the maca root stuff was the triethanolamine. I'm just not into that (although it's really into me..).

    Interesting read, but hardly convincing. Lots of hearsay, and the main evidence is from an article that's nearly 20 years old.

    I like the Maca root cream too, smells nice and a good performer. I wouldn't dock marks for not being made by the English/European institutions, it should be judged on its own merits. Just my $0.02

    Shave cream containing wheat is used by some people for the "cushion" and "glide" effect. I am looking into trying some myself. I think that was the ingredient Poraso Red had, which was formulated for sensitive skin.

    I read a review here where the writer compared the smell to 'freshly cut grass someone had decided to make desert out of' and I think that's spot on. I have a tiny issue with the price here in Australia, $25 dollars. However, online I can get it for $13. If postage was cheap I'd get it on line. I spent 2 hours walking all around the main shopping area of Adelaide and found only three types of shaving cream, Proraso (I've already got some), some stuff in a posh department store for 80 dollars; and the Body Shop one.

    I Use macca root balm. It's nice.
    I had a tube that I started in September. I expect 3month usage from it.

    Won't be a rebuy since I have so much product to use up ....but it is nice.
