I would have to say that my favorite inexpensive shaving cream is Erasmic. It is less than 7 bucks at some online retailers.

Mama Bear
Proraso
Tabac
Mama Bear's soaps are very nice glycerin based soaps that are not too expensive and give a great shave.
Hmmm... looking at some of the responses perhaps we should define what "inexpensive" means? :shrug:
For example, some consider Tabac cheap, others think it's moderately priced....
In the cream category I'd have to say hands down c.o bigelo, all around great at any price let alone 5 bucks a tube. As far a soaps I'm a big fan of fellow member mastershakes Bald Frog soaps. Great selection of scents and an all around awesome soap. Definitely recommend checking it out in the vendors corner.
La toja. Here in Spain the price of the cream tube is less than 3 euros.
Lea shave cream... I have only found it from Leon @ Vintage Scent its €4.95 for a nice BIG tube and it has a wonderful scent that is both clean and light. Whips up thick & creamy and its super slick!
Here's my list of enjoyable dirt cheap soaps and creams in no particular order;
Erasmic-simple but effective
Palmolive-great scent and works well
Wilkinson Sword-not the greatest lather but lovely fresh clean scent, works better with glycerin
Ingrams-sounds weird but reminds me of my Grandma and Grandpa's as a kid. Needs a bit more product than most but lathers up great, shaves really well
Arko-no need to explain why I like Arko! Even the packaging appeals in a big way and the scent is amazing.
I have really hard water where I live but find these all work well(apart from the Wilko's, that requires a bit more work but the scent is worth it to me). Something really appeals about cheap creams and soaps to me. I love the posh stuff too but for the price of one tub of something special I can buy many cheap soaps to use and enjoy. Nothing new to add with my list but the mention of cheap soaps makes me think of these immediately. Haven't had a puck of Williams for years but that's what I started out with, I'll grab one next time I go home to visit...happy shaving and Merry Christmas fellas!
