What is your favorite inexpensive soap/cream?
It's that time of year again where many of us have spent entirely too much money on gifts for the people in our lives. In the spirit of saving, I thought that I would start a thread about some of the great inexpensive shaving soaps and creams out there. Lately I have been going back and trying some of these soaps and creams myself and found that many of them perform just as well as some of the more expensive products. Here are some of my favorites so far:
- Arko shave stick-Has a nice clean scent. Tallow based and easily gives rich thick lather no matter how hard your water is.
- Palmolive shave stick-I get the same results as the Arko stick with this one, but with a different scent.
- Any of the Prorasso/Omega/Bigelow products-Bar none the best menthol soaps/creams out there
- Godrej-You would think that a cream that costs around $5 wouldn't be that great. Godrej is flat out one of the better products out there. Makes great lather, has a classic barbershop scent and has lanolin which makes your skin nice and smooth .
I know that others will have different opinions, so what are your favorite inexpensive soaps/creams?

This is one of the great aspects of this hobby, you really don't need to spend a lot of money to get nice stuff, although many of us do.....
Here's my "cheap favorites":
- Valobra stick
- Palmolive stick
- Mon Savon
- Cella
All of these produces a very nice and slick lather and are IMHO some of the best regardless of price.Need help or tutoring? Check out the .

1) Palmolive shave stick - for the glide

C.O. Bigelow / Proraso Green. So tolerant to variations in the cream to water ratio, and makes a very nice lather to boot.

Godrej Menthol Mist is one of my consistent favorites regardless of price. I like it as much as my much more expensive creams (T&H, Castle Forbes, etc.)
There are many roads to sharp.

Thanked: 1195I was going to say Proraso, but the last time I checked it really wasn't that cheap when compared to Williams, Arko, VDH, etc. Still, it's good stuff and definitely cheaper than Domenico Caraceni lol
