I think my favorite cheap soap is williams, found it on sale yesterday for 50¢ (they only had two though) now thats as cheap as it gets. I also like razorock it seems like there is no way to use to much water with that stuff, always produces great lather

Thanked: 13245Soap, Williams for sure, but I have to admit to still using and loving Col Conk Amber, but only the Amber I never liked their other soaps..
Cream, I would have to go with either Kiss My Face or The Body Shop

Glen,
How are you lathering the Williams soap? I have a well, water is VERY hard. I read on Theoriginalsafety.net (it's an SE website forum) that most the members love this soap, but I can't get it to work too well. One of the MODs there only uses Williams, uses a dry puck, wets his face, and a dry brush, adds water and working it in on his face, etc.
I'd like to use Williams, love the smell and it's in every store here.

Thanked: 13245Nick,
Chip-a -Tooth Well water here too but I have found that using it very hot works pretty good for me, we keep our water heater turned up to the red zone
I use a Boar brush and a Vintage Old Spice cup and then lather on the face, The "lather" is never as picture perfect as say a Über is but it shaves well... Plus it reminds me of my Pops when I use just that set up, and finish with Aqua Velva or Old Spice AS, so it gets bonus points for nostalgia

Thanked: 14I'm surprised no one has Mentioned Derby shaving creams... I got a dozen tubes of the lemon for something like $2/tube shipped; great lather and super cheap! Great for face lathering. I'd also second RazoRock in general if that counts as "cheap."

assuming that cheap is less than 5 bucks or so, Arko is the easy choice in The US. The only other soaps in that range are VDH, and Williams, both of which Arko significantly out performs.
