Thanked: 16Everyman Jack Shave Cream
So a while back I saw a request for a review of this stuff that Target now carries a whole line of. I had a target gift certificate and needed a few triple A batteries so I went and blew the rest of it on a tube of their "Signature shave cream" I'll have to look at the tube again when I get home but I believe its the signature Mint (just remember it saying light fragrance on the tube though) ingredients as listed on their website:
Shave Cream - Signature Mint
Ingredients: Water, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Squalane, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Polybutene, Polysorbate 60, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Myristyl Alcohol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance, Stearyl Alcohol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Crithmum Maritimum Extract (Sea Fennel), Chondrus Crispus Extract (Irish Moss),Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Chamomilla Recutita/Matricaria Extract, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol, Triethanolamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Titanium Dioxide
Now mind you I'm not an experienced reviewer only having used canned goops and a puck of Williams maybe with a dollop of glycerine but I decided to give it a go this morning post shower.
You apply it directly to your face with your hands from the tube. (Trust me this worked much better than the 10mins I had to spend trying to fight this stuff out of my brush luckily a cheapy boar from CVS however I might try adding a dollop to my Williams tommorrow) It feels kind of like some body butter my sister would use? Very oily hard to get off your hands razor sink etc. turned my bathroom into a bit of a mess.
That being said it did shave very well and comfortably and had what I would consider a mild pleasant odor but YMMV. Would I buy it again? No Would I happily use it in a pinch traveling over plain water indeed. Did it shave better than my puck of williams.... well the shave might have been better but the application/cleanup and having to squeegee it off my blade with my fingers instead of being able to dunk in a sink of water were noticeable drawbacks.
Post shave went with some cool water followed by the lines Mint Cooling post shave gel. This stuff is full of menthol and reeeks of it if you enjoy it great (personally I'm a fan but I wouldn't go out anywhere other than a rave with it still smelling on my face) but it does give quite a cooling effect if you walk anywhere that little bit of air movement and you feel it. After it dried I noticed two small unpleasant "sticky" spots on my face where I had first started to apply it and probably had left a little to much on my skin this washed off easily with a bit of cool water. Face is feeling good though.
Hope this helps keep folks informed in their desperate travel target shopping choices.
