making shave soap
I was wondering if anyone has tried making their own glycerin based shave soap on here. I have seen two pound white bricks of it at hobby lobby, with 1/3 of the mix moisterizers and coconut oil mixed in. From what i saw you just melt, add scent pour in a mold and cool. What do you guys think?

I have... Here's the procedure:
PM churley and write that you want a cake of Cavendish Black. Make a payment. The soap will be ready in 4-10 business days

If you do buy a brick of this stuff do not overheat it.
Simply melt it using the double boiler method.
Melt over medium heat and once it melts remove
it from the burner. Add scents at this point if
desired.
All your are doing is melting the glycerine.
If curious buy some and give it a try. Even if
it doesn't work as a shaving soap, you will
have some bath soap.

Sorry celtic. On a good note I have zero financial interest in Colleen's stuff. Check out her thread on soap-making though. She posted a recipe on making regular glycerin soap and if you want to modify it as a shaving soap, start messing around with clays. They retain water and help the razor glide. I think that Wilkinson uses silicone for that

soap
nothing against any of the soaps ive seen advertised on here, ive never tried them. but ive been sitting in a recliner for nine months recovering from spinal fusion, so i always try to find something new to take the edge off the intense boredom of recovery. and buying expensive shave soaps are not in the disability check budget.
