Martin de Candre while expensive is so well worth the price and it will last more than a year of everyday use.
I was planning on getting "The Fat" and then I heard it was tough to use if you have hard water. I live in Cincinnati now. Everything is hard here! I can pick it up cheap on Amazon as a refill and use my existing shave bowl. It will be a small investment for something that could be exactly what I am looking for. I feel like I am going to have a shelf full of creams and soaps. Much like my humidor, I will want one of every brand! Ohhh, how the finer things in life render us useless to desires:)
I second this. MdC is a superb investment and the performance is apparent from the first shave! Worth every penny in my books too :)
I would proceed to MWF with caution. It's dirt cheap here (relatively speaking), but not everyone can tolerate the lanolin in this! It has quite a heavy dose of it and caused my face to break out and burn slightly. I can cope with lanolin in other soaps (Creed), but in such products like Musgo Real and MWF, I would approach with caution.
That said, if you purchase and find it is no good for you, you'll probably be able to make back most of your dosh on the classifieds forum.
If you don't want to spend too much, I would go for the new Proraso white, great performer for only 10 dollars...
