Nivea Shave Cream

Hey everyone,

So not too long ago I got into wet shaving, and been looking for all sorts of stuff, I ran into a tube of this Nivea Shave Cream, It's going to be my first time using a cream, I've used a soap but not a cream, what should I expect my first time using a cream, as im not too fond of soaps. Swirling a brush in soap takes a while, but I heard that creams are more expediant. I will add a picture of the cream.

Hi Peter

You should get a good lather from that Nivea cream. I just put a bit, size of an almond or so, on my brush and move the brush around my wet face to spread it. Add a little water a bit at a time and keep going till I have the lather the way I want it.

Gentlemen, from what little I know about Nivea shave creams, they are not meant to be used with a brush, but, rather, to be applied by hand. Unless Nivea has a new lather cream out.

I haven't got a tube of it in the house now so I can't actually tell you what the instructions on the box really say. I can tell you that I have always used a brush with this cream with good results. However I did find this Extra Moisture Shaving Cream - NIVEA and it appears to be an either/or situation. I would just treat it as regular shave cream and use a brush. Personally I have never had much luck with any shave cream smearing it on by hand to the face and then just shaving without the use of a brush.

I use this cream quite often. It IS a cream you can use with a brush. In fact, its a very nice cream with not much scent. I like it a lot. whips up just like any other cream, Prorasso, TOBS, Musgo, AOS. IMO, an under rated cream.

Just got done using this cream, I'm not going to lie, the lather is pretty good, im impressed, although I had to use about 3-4x the size of an almond, but not bad. I used an almond size amount of cream, it was too foamy and runny. Added a bit more still not at what I desired, added more, and bam! creamy lather.

First Class cream. I only use the nivea and.Palmolive.
They are excellent

Hey Peter try having less water in your brush when you start to lather. Give it a couple of good shakes first to get rid of the excess water. Then add the water a little at a time and I mean very little by just touching the tips of the brush to the water. That way you add water not cream to catch up with the amount of water you have in the brush. You should be able to use less of the cream that way.

Heya Bob,

Yeah maybe that was the problem, I might have rushed into it a little bit, not giving it enough time, instead of adding dropplets of water I had the water running out of the faucet very slowly and put the dish under the water for a quick second, total mistake on my part. But still, the lather was really good. I can't wait to try that Palmolive, but really I would like try The Bluebeards Revenge, becasue around my chin and under my chin I have really really hard stuble, and that cream overtime inhibits the hair growth and stuble.
