I have a car safety belt lying around my house. I tried it, and found it gives no draw at all. But I'm thinking it might be excellent carrier for the sharpening pastes...

Good question and part of why I made this post. I remember last time it was mentioned there were quite a few guys interested in a non-leather strop but I don't remember if any suitable material was found. I know a few vegans myself and they also tend to be conservative in other areas concerning waste. I would think disposable razors would be soemthing they would like to avoid as well.


The material I have tried has no end to the draw. One has to use quite a light touch because of the friction. Looks like leather (sort of), feels like leather (more so) and strops like leather.

Might just have to send one out for testing.

Meh, nobody lives forever :cool: Actually, the reason I'm getting a bike now as opposed to 5 years ago is that I would have killed myself then and now I feel that I should be ok.
