Travel Strops
I'm looking for suggestions on what to use for a travel strop. On one web site, I read about someone who just rolled up their regular strop and put a rubber band around it to travel with, however, someone else responded to the thread that that was a good way to ruin your strop. I was hoping to get away without having to buy another strop, as just about anywhere you shop, their expensive. Looking on the SRD site, the paddle strop is over $50.00, being that, I don't want to spend money on something that I don't really need or doesn't work. Some say paddle, some say regular strop. What are your suggestions on what to use for travel ?

Took a paddle strop on a 10-day vacation a couple weeks ago. Really missed using my hanging strop and will take that next time. First time I've only taken the paddle. Will just be using that for the CrOx from now on. Sure that it is just personal preference and whatever works best for you.

Thanked: 4830I am always back and forth to work in a remote location so I pack up and go one way or the other every three weeks. I got a suitcase that is big enough that my regular strops lays flat in, on a diagonal but still flat. It seems pretty happy. I guess the travels strop only applies to those traveling light.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I have been pining after a small maestro livi loom strop for travel, though i think it would be too bulky for travel. Thats my excuse and
I'm sticking to it.

I took a strop with damage on one end... and cut off the damage, took the paddles off and left the D rings on it. Bam! travel strop.
I would suggest you shop for a damaged strop like I had, and just cut off the bottom (or top) of it where the damage is.Recovered Razor Addict
