So was stropping a few days ago and fumbled with a freshly honed blade and tried to catch it. Not only did I drop it and chip the edge a bit but got a good cut too. I figured out how to post pictures!!!!

Sorry to hear/see that bro. One thing I learned while I was cooking full time...If it drops don't try to catch it. Served me well with straights too.
I strop over carpeting. If I drop I just say a quick prayer it does not hit the molding and break.
Guess you'll have the scar to be a reminder not to try that again
Glad to see it wasn't to bad
I deleted the pic of when it first happened looked so narly, but it is definitely healing up nicely.
I have a rug in the bathroom when shaving. I have dropped my razor once and I didn't think of trying to catch it after reading threads about this, luckily it hit the rug and no damage was done. Glad to see it's getting better.
I learned many years back that if I wanted to count to 21 at bed time; I best step back and let her fall!

This brings up another dropped razor story from a few years ago.
In short, if you shave right out of the shower, put a towel between you and the sink.
I think we all have our dropped razor story to tell especially if you've been at it for many years. I know I've dropped a few.
As bad as it may be it's worse if you be a watch collector and fumble putting on a nice watch and it hits the floor. The last time I did that the lesson cost me $1200.
