Yea, they did not want to say, it is just Chrome Oxide that we buy from Kramer Pigments, (or their vendor) at $5 per pound and mix with mineral oil and wax and sell to you at 100 times the cost.
For honing you do not need to add any other abrasives, it works just fine by itself. For polishing they add aluminum oxide to cut metal faster and polish, and it is cheaper than Chromium Oxide.
For most honers a stick or tube of any quality Chrome Oxide paste is a lifetime supply. My pasted razor strop was pasted, maybe 5-6 years ago, it has not needed any addition.
For tools and knives, I add a couple strokes of compound every couple of months, because of the swarf that tools and knives leave behind. I scrape the leather to remove the swarf and give it a couple of swipes from the stick.
