Default red paste as routine maintenance?

what do people think of the idea of a few strokes on a paddle with red paste between shaves? i'm not sure if this is a little excessive or not, i'd be interested to hear if people do anything more than the naked leather strop for daily upkeep of the edge

my guess is that red paste is an equivalent grit of 12k+, is this accurate?

No, I do not use anything but the leather for daily upkeep of my edges. If you need to use pastes after every shave then your edges and/or your stropping are not quite where they need to be IMO.

The red paste is probably best used for a finish polish when honing or an occastional touch up. It like similar substances will work better on some razors and not on others. Usually, once a razor is honed, regular stropping is all that is needed for a couple months.
