Recently I was out traveling with my shaving kit for the first time.I had everything in my toiletbag including my strop.(yes I'm pretty new to straightrazors.)I tought it would curl up nice in my toiletbag(the strop that is)
But when I arrived and was unpacking my gear, the strop was bent on the middle.Right away it didn't look like a big problem, but when I tried stropping ther was a big bump on the strop where it was bent. The bump really dulled my razor no matter what I did.So I decided to try sanding it.I pulled out my norton stone, and really honed the strop. The ting is it really worked great, the strop got completly flat again. And the surface is smooth as ever with some stropdressing. So the question is,was this a smart move,or have I completly ruined both the strop and my stone?:hmmm:
