    Default bespoke strops

    Hi All -

I'm about to launch two styles of bespoke razor strop - hanging and twin-sided paddle. Both are handcrafted, unique and top quality. The paddle will have a standard 11" x 3" bed. The wood is solid ash, English Oak etc. (that is, the handle isn't a separate piece that is screwed on to a stock frame), hand turned and finished. The paddle is in the TI 'spring-board' style and is covered with best English leather, A hanging hook can be fitted.

The hanging strops are (stock) 3" wide by some 19" bed length. 4.0 mm best cowhide. Hanging gear is all stainless steel, hand stitched with sinew, c/w wall bracket. Handles will be beech, ash, Oak etc. and pegged right through the leather in a full-depth 'tang' style (like a good-quality knife handle).

All is bespoke. If you want a 26" hanging strop - no problem.

    These will not be cheap!

Some feedback from you gentlemen. Given that this will be genuinely top-class equipment - do you think there is a market?

    Hey, Steve!

I suppose there is always market for a bespoke thing... especially on this side of the pond! Of course the price is an important issue... but I'd say it's a good idea.
I'm eager to see those strops you talk about. When can one expect to see them at your place?

    Regards,

    Francisco

The strops look really good, Steve. I'm sure you'll be asking a more than fair price... that I most certainly will not be able to afford! But hey! that's my problem, right? Terrific work! Congratulations. And if these strops are as good as they look...
Thanks for posting the prototype pictures!

The Elves who make these are currently away on hols (presumably in Greenland!) but I am making best efforts to get them 'on the go'. My plan is to make a 'standard' paddle and hanging strop but from there it's up to you. You want paisley backing on our hanging strop? Silver fittings? Very Expensive Indeed leather? That's what bespoke is about!

I will obviously be making them available to our colonial chums and indeed whoever wants them!
