Mesh vs micron
I found some Chromium Oxide on ebay from chemsavers that lists the product with a 325 mesh.
My understanding of this is that this mesh size is about 44 microns. I see you guys here discussing a 0.5 micron size for Chromium oxide. I guess I just need to bounce this info off the wall and get some clarity here.
thanks,

Is it this? Chromium(IV) oxide, 99.5%, 100g - eBay (item 370131742714 end time Jan-15-09 11:46:53 PST)
325 is extremely coarse, and it must be very granular. There's not really a need for something that coarse. The only reason I can think of it being coarser is because it's listed as Chromium (IV) Oxide, Cr02. I found another product of their's: Chromium(III) oxide, Purified, 500g - eBay (item 250321159470 end time Jan-05-09 11:13:44 PST) that refers to Chromium (III) Oxide, Cr2O3. It doesn't list the grit size of this one though....
I'm pretty sure the chromium oxide you want for razor purposes is the Chromium (III) Oxide, Cr2O3.
I hope that's helpful!

Don't forget CrO is mostly used for lapidary use so different mesh or grit sizes are used in different stages of the grinding and polishing process.
