    Default Stropping after a shave...

Do you guys sometimes strop the razor after you finish shaving...Could I after I'm done shaving give the razor 50-60 strokes on the strop to get the razor ready for the next shave or should I wait right before I shave with that razor the next time around.

I sstorp after to dry the edge, and then I strop again immediately prior to shaving again.

+1, I always do my main stropping right before the shave. After the shave I rinse the blade and wipe it with a Kleenex tissue. I do a dozen round trips on the horse to clean any micro gunk out of the striations then I put on a rust preventative and I'm done.

+1 again. Always dry the blade, then 20 laps. I use the linen though. Then strop right before the shave. Even if i've gone through & stropped all the razors, when they come out of the drawer for a shave, i have to strop them again. Is that OCD?

Now that I am finally stropping correctly, i usually strop 30 or so passes after the shave.

Feel like it helps it dry and removed any crap that may still be on the razor.

I strop on the cavas to dry the blade, then a few times on leather just for the sake of it. All (correct) stropping is good, but I do think most of it needs to be done immediately before the shave.

One more thing I'm doing - I have one of those spot applicator pens with Ballistol oil in it. I put one spot of oil on the fleshy bit of my palm near the little finger, then strop on my palm Mastro Livi-style to cover the blade with oil. (I do it a bit slower than Mastro does it though! ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBXOP9tGqZs

it's best to strop after your shave to clean all particles from the edge and preserve the blade. I think it's also best to strop before a shave to allign the edge for maximum efficiency. I do both.

Maybe it deserves a "Before/After" label.

If I give the razor a good stropping session let's say 60 round trips on the latigo..would I need to strop again before shaving if I shave the next day?

Just IMHO it is always best do the main stropping immediately before the shave. A light stropping following the shave to clean the edge of any micro gunk. Read what mparker has said about stropping removing corrosion (not visible to the naked eye) here.

I strop 20 times of so on leather after I shave to help dry it, then I put a little mineral oil on it. Right before next shave I wipe the razor off and give it a full stropping.

I doubt you'd see any adverse effects from doing all of the stropping the day before, but I think for best results you should do it immediately before you shave. I'm sure even over a day the edge can start to rust microscopically which stropping immediately before the shave would take care of. But as I said, I don't think this would make ALL that of a difference, but maybe just a little.
