    Default Did I do a bad thing?

    I am in the process of learning how to use a JStr8.

    I needed to strop it and some where in my tired and frustrated mind, I thought I could strop the same way I hone. Back and Forth. I tried this and surprisingly my strop was not nicked.

    Is this how a JStr8 is supposed to be stropped.

    No it is not. The spine is leading and the edge is trailing. Check out this tutorial in the barber manual in the help files. It is very good and illustrated. Note that practicing flipping the blade without moving the hand until you are adept at it is suggested. Also videos are in the SRP Wiki.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    I dont know if stropping with the edge leading will be bad or not, but it seems like a very easy way to accidentally mess up a perfectly good strop and razor
