    Default TI 4-sided paddle

Does anybody have one of these? How do they compare to other similar paddle strops you may have used? Is it quality or would you suggest going with another brand?

The description of it on Classic Shaving states that it has different colored leather sides to differentiate the various sides for applying pastes, with a red leather side for finishing (to leave unpasted)......is the red side red latigo leather, or is it simply the same type of leather as the pasting sides just treated with a red dye?

no one? oh, well....it doesn't seem to matter much as I've gone ahead and ordered a 4-sided paddle from TM...his shop re-opened this morning so I went for it.

    thanks anyway!

You did alright then. I have never had a TI paddle but I have the four sided Tony Miller and it is a fine tool. Great workmanship, leather and it has the grit sizes stamped into the leather so you don't have to try and remember what is where. Mine stands on end near the shaving area ready if I need it. You'll be happy with it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
