    The seller is in denial and stopped communicating, saying that he used to strop on worse strops when he was a barber long time ago. I have not had a dispute for six plus years, now I have two in the past two weeks.

    that's unfortunate, i think that it's a fairly big risk, so if you want a single strop ebay is not the place to get it.
    i just bought another one on ebay and it's fantastic. i had to pay more than what i could buy a new strop for, but the leather is the closest thing among all my other shells to the japanese cordovan, which i think may be my favorite.
