Have you decided on the hone? I'd highly recommend a Norton 4/8 and a Shapton 16k. You can start off with just the Norton. Maybe you need to get out there and mow the lawn and wash the car and get some spondoolies together...

I'm gonna go for the Norton. Just seems like the stone to do it all. Getting 40$ soon so I'm like half way there! Gonna go for a 12-16k stone within a few months.

When I started I thought, wouldn't it make sense to go up in increments like 4-8-12. But I decided on the 16. Maxi really helped me a lot learning about hones. I remember an email of his once where I replied that I had NO idea what he was going on about, with the PHIGs, Cotis, etc. I STILL don't really. At least with a Norton you know exactly what the grit is and there's HEAPS of info. I like the Shapton because that's what I use most for touchups and it needs no soaking.

Anyway, way off topic again and bouncing from topic to topic like a yo-yo. I must slow down...

I was thinking before if there's one person who's going to go far it's Parker. I was listening to a documentary thing on the radio about Obama and the elections and stuff and the idea that anyone can become president in the US, but how until lately that didn't really ring true for people of colour, and then started thinking about the SORTS of people that that ideal may be true for, and who it may be less true for.

For some reason I always relate world events to those I know here FROM those countries. Whether it be the European debt crisis, a tragedy somewhere, whatever there's often someone from this forum I know who makes that story 'real' to me.
