I just took my strop which was acting a little funny, bouncing, binding, not stropping the full edge continuously. I kept trying to flatten the strop to make it perform correctly. But full correction did not come easily.

Finally, I left it hanging and just moved my hand behind the linen and rolled the leather outward gently, getting it to turn paler as I bent it outward. That simple.

It now strops again just like new . . . I may never try to "flatten" a strop again.
