I am stropping on a paddle strop, pasted on one side and plain on the other.
I have decided to only use the strop for now, since I can get a decent shave with it.

However, my strop is < 2 inches wide, so I have to X.
The problem is that the heel and toe feel courser than the middle. I suspect that this is caused by the fact that the middle touches the strop more than the heel and toe.

I want to take care of this problem by doing one lap with the upper half, and then one lap with the lower half of the blade. That way, sharpness should be more even along the blade.

Are there problems with stropping like this?
I thought I'd ask before ruining my edge. again.
