I would start with just the CrOx, it is a safe bet..

so use .5 micron sprayed on balsa in the say way that diamond spray is used on felt?

Balsa is VERY effective, in fact IMHO too effective, I like Leather or Felt for pastes and sprays

I made a felt paddle strop and used the Chromium Oxide .5 Micron Spray
