The roos tail is naturally hairless and is the most uniform and smooth of leathers currently known of.
This is what results in the smooth draw, as only the weight of the blade is run along its surface. This does mean however that it will take longer to strop with it.
The skin is also very tough for its thickness and will give you that rough, hot feel when you run the blade along under pressure. It will be more forgiving than cow leather to this pressure and it's suggested to round the edge less than other leathers when misuse isn't severe. For this reason people who are too rough with their strops will love the kangaroo leather the most.
P.S. Love the strop, it's beautiful.
