Thanked: 24could use your opinion on these strops
Hi there,
I'm looking to buy a second strop to use at my girlfriend's place and since I don't want to spend to much money on it I'm looking at some dirt cheap strops at ebay. Now I know that apparently not all strops are made equally but I don't know how to distinguish between quality and crap, that's why I'm asking here (already excluded chinese made strops, no offence to any chinese person reading this)
I don't mind the size since the one I have right now is quiet small and works just fine.
I'm looking at the following strop in accending cost (including shipping to NL)
if you spot one which you know is definetly crap or definetly decent I would realy like to know
Strop Canvas 2 Sides Sharpener for Straight Razor | eBay
Rite Edge Barber Leather Strop Straight Razor | eBay
Professional Barber Leather Strop Straight Razor Sharpening Shave Shaving Strap | eBay
Titan Leather 2 Sided Straight Razor Strop Special Wax | eBay

As long as it is smooth and free of all blemishes it will work fine. it's hard to see detail in the photos.

Don't buy cheap strops & don't buy strops that are folded over as in one of those pics.
A strop will last decades if looked after. Even the most exe strop is cheap when you consider the mileage it will give. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

I concur the srd paddle strop is a great stop. Use one quite frequently and they make for a great travel strop.
