I agree with this also. When my blade gets to where the strop wont fix it, I put it on the stone, usually 4k,8k,12k. If that don't get it I go all the way back to 1000k. I have the diamond spray and the crox but don't really see a lot of value in it

If you don't have a finishing stone give the Crox from SRD a try. It's pure and has accurate grit content based on the color your select. (Just crox and good stropping will keep you shaving smooth for a long time). I prefer using it on a piece of balsa wood. I don't like anything but natural on my linen strop.
